Carrick Swan Senior hurlers booked their place in the quarter finals of the Seamus O’ Riain Cup on Sunday last with an impressive 6-point victory over North Tipperay’s Lorrha/Dorrha in Littleton. We’ll play JK Brackens, Holycross/Ballycahill or Mullinahone in the quarter-final.
 
On Sunday next, our Senior’s take on Mullinahone in the 2019 South Senior Hurling Final in Clonmel Sportsfield at 5pm. Best of luck to the team and their mentors on Sunday. Let’s get to Clonmel to cheer them on.
 
Our Junior camogie girls lost out to Moycarkey, in Littleton on Saturday last. Despite this loss, the team has qualified for the county quarter final. We’re awaiting the fixture for this game.
 
The South Minor A Hurling Final, which is also against Mullinahone, takes place on Sunday September 22nd in Clonmel Sportsfield at 3-15pm.
 
Our u16s exited the South u16 A Championship on Thursday last when we lost to St Mary’s of Clonmel by 5 points in the semi-final. The club would like to thank the players and their mentors for their hard work and commitment throughout the year.
 
Our u10s travelled to Clonmel on Saturday morning to take part in the Frank Maher Memorial tournament held by St Mary’s hurling club. Our boys beat Fethard, Sarsfields of Cork and St Mary’s of Clonmel to top the group but unfortunately, we lost out to Lismore of Waterford in the Semi-Final. The Swan u10s performed brilliantly and all enjoyed a great days hurling. We’d like to thank St Mary’s for inviting us up to play, and congratulate them on an extremely well run tournament that brought kids from all over Ireland together for some super games.
 
Carrick Swan would like to wish one of our camogie girls, Angela McGuigan, the very best of luck in next Sunday’s All Ireland Intermediate Ladies Football Final where Tipperary take on Meath at 1-45pm in Croke Park.
