Commiserations to our Senior hurlers who lost out narrowly to Mullinahone on Sunday last in Clonmel Sportsfield in the South Senior Hurling Final. We fought hard until the very end but Mullinahone ran out winners by 2 points. Unlucky lads.

We’d like to thank our Senior hurlers and their management team for their hard work and commitment to date. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be on Sunday, but our year is far from over. We play the Seamus O’ Riain Quarter Final in the coming weeks.

On Sunday next, our Minor hurlers take on Mullinahone in their South A hurling final. The club would like to wish the team, and their mentors, the very best of luck on Sunday afternoon. The game throws in at 3-15pm in Clonmel Sportsfield.

Our Intermediate footballers lost out to Clonoulty/Rossmore in Round 3 of the Co Intermediate football championship on Wednesday last.

Carrick Swan would like to congratulate one of our camogie girls, Angela McGuigan, who was part of the Tipperary All Ireland Intermediate Ladies Football winning team in Croke Park on Sunday last. Angela scored 1-01 on the day. Well done Angela.

Our Minor Camogie girls exited their championship on Saturday last when we lost to Borris-Ileigh. Unlucky girls.

On Sunday next, the Southern tip of Tipperary takes on the Northern tip of Tipperary when our Junior Camogie girls travel two hours to take on Lorrha, in Lorrha, at 12 noon in the County Quarter Final. We’d like to wish the girls and their mentors the very best of luck in this game.

The annual Craig Walsh memorial u12 hurling tournament takes place on Sunday next, beginning at 9.30am sharp. We welcome Arravale Rovers, Cahir, and Grangemockler/Ballyneale of Tipperary, and Mount Sion and De La Salle of Waterford to Carrick for what is sure to be a festival of hurling. We’d encourage all members and supporters to come down and enjoy the games on show.

We also have an update on Pairc na hEalai this week. The pitches continue to mature nicely, and while waiting for nature to play its part, we’ve been working hard on the clubhouse. The main building/plastering work is now complete, carpentry is almost complete. Electrical first and second fix is done except for some small bits and pieces, similarly plumbing first fix is also completed. Tiling has been completed to a high standard and looks very well.

We will also hope to begin car park works in the near future as well as installing goal posts, ball stop netting and all associated works that we will require ensuring the facility will be well maintained and in pristine condition at all times. To date we have spent a whopping €560,000 and it will not stop there, so please help us any way you can by supporting all our fundraising initiatives.

The main field fundraiser is of course our ’12 Days of Christmas Draw’ and we rely on everyone to play their part and buy/sell as many tickets as you can, also by taking part in our weekly lotto you are supporting the club development massively. Please contact our Facebook page or any committee member for more details.

Last week’s Swan Lotto numbers were  06 – 11 – 20 – 21. The jackpot was €6,250 and there was no winner. Seven match 3’s win €30 each. Next Week’s Jackpot is €6,500. Thank you for your continued & appreciated support. Play our lotto – Support our young players.

Carrick Swan would like to pass on their condolences to the Tobin family, Ballyneal, and the O’Brien family, Castle Street on their recent bereavements.
