The Craig Walsh memorial u12 hurling tournament took place on The Green on Sunday last. Congratulations to Mount Sion of Waterford who beat Swan in the Cup Final. Also, congratulations to Cahir who won the Shield final.
Carrick Swan would like to thank Mount Sion, Arravale Rovers (Tipperary Town), Piltown, and Cahir for travelling to Carrick last weekend. It was an outstanding competition, with quality on show all day, from all teams. Well done all.
The club would also like to thank everybody who helped out on the day, from preparing the pitches, to making, and serving the refreshments.
Our u11s were unlucky to lose to Fethard by 3 points in a high-scoring game in the Winter League last week. They play again against coming Sunday against Kilsheelan at 11am on The Green.
Our u13s are also in action this weekend. They play Killenaule on Saturday at 11am on The Green.
Best wishes to Sean McDonnell who is currently on the mend following surgery last week. Sean does so much for and in the club that it would be impossible to quantify his value. Sean is current Treasurer, acting Juvenile Secretary, heavily involved with the club lotto, club bingo and club fundraising. He’s also currently coach of our u14 hurlers and footballers and does so much more within than listed above for the club. Get well soon, Sean.
The club would also like to wish former player, former secretary, and present vice-chairman Frankie Power well as he recovers from a recent operation. His sense of humour and strong attitude will carry him through. A true Swan man. Get well soon Frankie.
Carrick Swan would urge the person who thinks it’s ok to dump grass cuttings in front of the new Carrick Swan field on Ballyrichard Road to stop immediately. We’d ask anybody who sees this activity taking place to please inform the Swan club straight away. As well as illegal dumping carrying a heavy fine, the Swan club has spent a lot of money spent in cleaning up that area and practices such as this are not acceptable. Thank you.
Carrick Swan would like to thank Docs Cabs for sponsoring squad tops for our South winning u16 boys recently. If you’re in need of a taxi, give Doc a shout on 086-2456297. The squad tops are exquisite. Thanks Doc.
We’d also like to thank The Auld Rogue for their recent sponsorship of a set of camogie jerseys. Jason and Claire have been very generous in their sponsorship of the club over the past number of years sponsoring jerseys for underage and adult teams. Thanks lads. It’s much appreciated.
