We’ve a field update for you this week, also. The building of the new revised club facility is now underway at ‘Pairc na hEalai’. At ground level we will have two large dressing rooms complete with showers and toilet facilities, entrance hall, referee’s room with shower and toilet, external toilet and plant room. Two sets of stairs will then lead up to the top floor where we will have a landing, ladies and gents toilet facilities, kitchen area and large function/meeting room/gym. It is envisaged that this work will be complete in the next few months.
A panoramic view of the whole field will be available from the top floor by way of a large window area. In the future we will be able to add two more ground level dressing rooms, one at either side of the facility if required.

In the coming months, the carpark will also need surfacing and we will then turn our attention to ‘kitting’ out the field itself by installing ball-stop netting, goalposts, machinery store etc. So while there is a lot done there is an amount of work still to be done but as always thanks to all who support our fundraisers we will reach our target of having a fantastic facility.

As a club we are very conscious of the support we get from the local community and so as much as it is possible it will be a local input that will carry out the work and where we will try and source our materials.
William Barrett of Wm Barrett Building & Plastering Ltd deserves great praise for both working on and managing the building part of the project and he will be assisted by Jim Kennedy – Ace Core Drilling, Ray Dunne – Carpentry, Tom Kennedy – Electrician, J.S.F.
