Our Senior hurlers had a great win last weekend against Holycross/Ballycahill in the County Senior Hurling League. The game took place on Sunday in Holycross. It was a high-scoring affair which we won by the narrowest of margins. Swan 5-14 Holycross 6-10. Well done lads.
This win keeps us in 2nd place and moves us to 8 points from 5 games, and puts us 2 points clear of Templederry Kenyons who are now in 3rd place. Clonakenny lead the way with 10 points from 5 games. The top team in our group gets promoted to Division 1 for the 2020 season and also qualifies for the Division final against the top team in the other group in the division, which is currently Lorrha. Our penultimate County Senior Hurling League game is against Cashel King Cormacs on the weekend of June 9th. Our final game will be against Clonakenny a few weeks later.
Our u14 hurlers had good workout in Passage on Sunday morning in preparation for their forthcoming championship, which begins in June.
Our u10’s and u11s were also in action in challenge games in Piltown during the week and we’d like to thank the host clubs for their hospitality and we’d also like to thank those who provided transport to our recent juvenile games.
Commiserations to Cian Robinson, Aaron O’Sullivan and Jamie Holloway who were all part of the Tipperary Gold Celtic Challenge u17 team who lost to Cork City by 4 points last week.
Congratulations to Carrick Swan u12 player Stefan Tobin on his selection for the Tipperary primary game team for the match v Clare on Sunday next. Best of luck on Sunday, Stefan.
The dates for this year’s Carrick Swan Cul Camps/Summer camps have been finalised. July 15th to July 19th. The costs are €60 for your 1st child; €55 for your 2nd child, and €45 for 3rd and subsequent children. We do not have forms but you can register online, on the Cul Camps website.
