Our Intermediate footballers took on Clonmel Commercials on Thursday last. We tried hard but lost out by 5 points in the end. 2-12 to 1-10.

Our Senior hurlers play Lattin Cullen Gaels on Saturday next in Lattin in the Co Hurling League. The game throws in at 6-30pm.

Lots of our underage team were in action last week.

Our u14’s travelled to Waterford City to take on Mt. Sion on Friday evening where we had a competitive game preparing for our upcoming championship which begins on 05th July.

Our u12’s travelled to Tipperary Town where we took on Arravale Rovers on Saturday last. We had a good workout in preparation for our championship which begins in the coming weeks. This year, we will field teams in both A and D competitions.

Our u8 and 10s attended blitzes last week, also. Both our teams hurled extremely well, and all the kids really enjoyed themselves.

Our u6s continue to train each week on The Green. We’ve over 35 u6s playing this year, and we’d like to thank parents for choosing Carrick Swan. New players welcome at all times. Please call to any training session or reach out via our website or social media. Kids are strictly supervised at all times, also. To make this easier on our coaches, we’d also ask parents to stick around during training, and help out when needed.

Carrick Swan would like to thank the host clubs for their hospitality over the past week, and to Colm and blitz organisers for organising such good events.

Cúl Camp forms have arrived last week also and will be distributed by team coaches soon. However, we’ve received less forms than we need as online application is preferred by the County Board. You can register vis www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie. The Cúl Camp takes place from July 16 to 20 and costs €60 for your first child. €50 for your second. €40 for your third and subsequent children.

We’d like to send massive congratulations to u14 player Owen Dunne on his selection on the Tipperary u14  hurling panel for forthcoming games. Owen is being deservedly rewarded for his talent, dedication and determination.

We extend get well soon wishes to under 12 player Zach Tobin who suffered serious hand injury this week while playing another code. Zach is very talented in many sports and his injury will unfortunately rule him out of the u12 hurling championship.  We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in black and white in the near future.

We wish all our players who are now enjoying their school holidays a very enjoyable summer. Stay safe and keep practicing your skills at every opportunity.

We wish all those students who have completed their second level education the best of luck in their exams, their chosen career paths and in further education.

We had a jackpot winner this week. Congratulations Anne McCarthy, Killonerry Close. Our Juvenile lotto jackpot last week was €2,500.  The numbers drawn were 06 – 08 – 16 – 20. A mass for the deceased members of Carrick Swan club will be held in the club hall on Friday next, June 8th at 7.30pm. This mass was very well attended and received last year and we encourage you to once again come and remember all those sadly gone before us. So please take one hour out to come and pray for them in a club they cared about so much. The mass is open to everyone to attend.
