Our Senior hurlers made it three wins on the trot in the Co League with a win over Cashel on Sunday morning in blistering hot conditions. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to come 2nd in the group and make the Semi Finals of the competition, due to other results going against us this weekend, but it was a good showing, and good preparation for our upcoming county championship fixtures.

Our u16 footballers are back in action on Monday (tonight) when they take on Moyle Rovers in Davin Park. Before tonight, we have 4 points from 3 games. A win against Moyle Rovers qualifies us for the Semi Finals of the competition. The game throws in at 7-30pm.

While our u16s are playing Moyle Rovers in Davin Park, our u12s are playing the same opposition on The Green. Our u12s also take on Fethard this coming weekend. Last Thursday our u12 D team lost out to St Mary’s on The Green.

Our u14’s had a useful workout against Portlaw-Ballyduff last week where they played some fine hurling and more importantly received compliments from the referee on duty for their exemplary discipline and behaviour on the field.

Our u8’s and u10’s were also in action in Monroe on Saturday where they took on Moyle Rovers. There was some great skill on show in these games.

Our youngest players, u6’s, travelled to Clogheen for a blitz on Saturday morning last where they had a very enjoyable morning on what was for some their first match day outing in a Carrick Swan jersey. The first of many we hope.

Carrick Swan would like to thank all the host clubs for their hospitality and organisation over the past week.

Congratulations to all our players, and indeed all students, who completed their junior and leaving certificate exams last week. We welcome them all back to club activities again and wish those going on to further education the best of luck in their chosen studies.
