Carrick Swan Notes Monday July 22nd

Adult Hurling, Football, & Camogie

The Carrick Swan Premier Intermediate hurlers play Round 1 of the Seamus O’Riain Cup on Friday in Littleton where we take on Upperchurch-Drombane. Throw-in 7.30pm. Best of luck, lads.

Well done to our Junior ‘A’ hurlers who defeated Father Sheehy’s on Sunday evening. We now await our South Quarter-Final Fixture.

Our u19’s lost out narrowly to Ballingarry, in their Championship opener on Friday last, losing by 1-point. We dust ourselves off and take on Killenaule in Ned Hall Park on Wednesday night. That game throws in at 7.30pm.

A superb night of camogie took place in Páirc na nEalaí, on Friday last, for our Annual Camogie Tournament Finals night. Well done to Butlerstown who defeated Swan to win the Cup final, while Ballingarry defeated St. Patrick’s to win the shield.

Carrick Swan would like to thank William Barrett Building Contractor and Plastering Ltd. for their generosity once again. William sponsored the medals for our, now annual, Camogie tournament, which was a huge success again in 2024. William also kindly sponsored food afterwards in O’Ceallachain’s Bar, Carrick, where a great night was had by all. As always, Stretch, your generosity is really appreciated by all in Carrick Swan.

Juvenile Scene

On Monday evening, our u17’s take on St. Mary’s in Clonmel Sportsfield. The game throws in at 7.45pm.

On Thursday evening, our u15’s are back in action, vs Clonmel Og, in Páirc na nEalaí. Throw-in is 6.30pm.

Our u13 hurlers played out an enthralling draw vs Ballybacon-Grange on The Green on Saturday morning. The draw means that we finish 3rd in our Group.

Our u12 Camogie girls lost out to Ballybacon Grange in their County Shield Final last Wednesday evening. Unlucky, girls.

Our u9’s held a Go Games blitz on Saturday morning in Páirc na nEalaí. We played teams from Kilsheelan, Clonmel Og, & Ardfinnan. It was an excellent morning’s football, and all the kids had a great time showcasing the skills of football that they’ve learned over the past few months.
