The club will be opening the new field and new club house building on Sunday July 21st at 12 noon for anyone that would like to see the outstanding progress made to date. Remember, without your support none of this massive undertaking would be possible and so it’s only fair that you get the opportunity to view it as we get ready to launch our 12 Days of Christmas Draw for 2019. Everybody is welcome.
Our Junior A hurlers lost out to Ballingarry by 4 points on Friday last in Cloneen. This loss leaves us on 4 points after 3 games played. Our final group game against Grangemockler/Ballyneale is likely to be a must-win to ensure progress to the latter stages of the championship. There’s no fixture for this game, yet.
Our Junior Camogie girls play Portlaw on The Green tonight (Monday) as they continue their championship preparations.
Last Saturday, our Minor hurlers beat Moyle Rovers by 5 points to start their Championship off with a win. Our next Minor game will take place on Wednesday July 24th when we take on Skeheenarinky. Skeheenarinky lost their opening game to Ballingarry last week.
Our u16 game, which was due to take place on Monday has been moved to Thursday. The game throws in at 7-30pm in Monroe.
Our u14s had another great win last week on The Green when we beat St Marys by 8 points. Our next game takes place on Friday August 2nd when we take on Moyle Rovers in our final group game.
Our u12 D’s had a fantastic battle with Moyle Rovers in Monroe on Monday of last week. We came out on top by a single point in a very close game that could have gone either way. Well done boys.
Our u12s were also in action in Clonea on Saturday last. We played in the Tommy Finn Hurling Tournament against Fourmilewater of Waterford, Mooncoin of Kilkenny, and Midleton of Cork. We won 2 games, and were unlucky to lose another which saw us eliminated on score differences. Unlucky boys.
Our u12 A’s play Killenaule tonight (Monday) also. Our u12 A’s are back in action next Tuesday when we take on Fethard on The Green at 6-30pm. All support welcome.
Our u10 boys played a blitz last week in Dr Morris Park in Thurles, also. It was a very enjoyable evening.
Our u9 boys play Clonea in a challenge game on The Green this week.
This week, our Cúl Camp is taking place on The Green. The club would like to thank Siobhán O’Dwyer for co-ordinating the camp again this year. Thanks Siobhán. It’s really appreciated by all in the club.
Congratulations to Isabelle Hawkins, one of our U10 camoige girls who was a flag bearer for the Tipperary hurling team in Croke Park on Sunday last. Isabelle won a competition that her mam entered her into with Bord Gais. What a fantastic day out.
