Games are beginning to come thick and fast for all our teams at the moment with championships beginning this week.
Our Junior Camogie team had a good 3-point win over Gortnahoe in a tournament game that took place on Sunday. Well done, ladies. We take on Ballingarry, this coming Thursday night at 7.30pm in Páirc na nEalaí in the next round. Come along and support the Junior ladies while respecting HSE guidelines.
This coming Sunday (July 20th), our Minor and u12 hurlers begin their respective championships. Our Minors take on St. Mary’s, in Fethard at 7pm, while our u12s take on St Patricks in Páirc na nEalaí at 10am. Our Minors also take on Ballingarry on Wednesday, July 22nd in their second game.
On Monday next, our u16s begin their championship when we travel to Clonmel Sportsfield to take on St. Mary’s of Clonmel. Our u16s have two challenge games this week, against Ballingarry on Monday night in Páirc na nEalaí & Kilsheelan on Wednesday night, also in Páirc na nEalaí, in preparation for our upcoming championship.
Cúl Camps begin next week, on Monday July 20th. Bookings closed last weekend for this year’s camp. The club would like to thank Siobhán O’ Dwyer once again for organizing the camp. It’s a massive undertaken, especially this year, with all the COVID-19 restrictions, and regulations, and Siobhán has once again done trojan work in making sure it’s set up to be a very enjoyable week for the kids.
Carrick Swan Club would like to announce that our very popular ’12 Days of Christmas Draw will be launching soon. This Swan fundraiser is vital to raise much needed monies for their new development at Páirc na nEalaí. With almost €800,000 spent to date, the club have still to complete some costly projects in the future in the next phase of development at the field.
The final details of the draw will be announced shortly but the prize money as always will be very generous indeed.
We again hope for a great response from the people of the town and further afield, the people in Carrick and surrounding areas have never been found wanting when it comes to supporting such ventures, they see the merit and benefits in providing safe sporting facilities for the children and youth of the town and country side. We look forward to your support.
The club asks that all Sweep Cards are returned ASAP. They don’t need to be filled, if they’re currently blank, they just need to be returned. Once returned, a draw will take place for all monies collected. You can drop them back to any committee member or give James Hogan a call on 087 2510653 to arrange collection.
