Playing activities may have concluded for the year, but the club is a hive of activity at the moment.
Our 12 Days of Christmas draw continues until Saturday next, December 16, where we’ll have our bumper final draw night in the Carraig Hotel. Our top prize of €10,000 will be drawn along with 2x€1,000 winners and 5x€100 winners. That’ll bring the prize money awarded during the draw to €18,000 in total. Last year the atmosphere in the packed Carraig Hotel was brilliant as people partied late into the night and this year it will be more of the same. Please join us for what will be a wonderful night. You’ll also get to see our South winning Senior and u21 teams presented with their medals on the night. Results to date can be viewed. here.
On Friday last, we held our juvenile medal presentation for our South & County winning u16 B football team, our South Feile A winning u14 hurlers and our South u12 A winning hurlers, also. Medals were also presented to all our underage boys and girls.
Carrick Swan would like to thank Bill Maher, Tipperary senior footballer and Dan McCormack, Tipperary senior hurler for presenting medals on the night. We’d also like to thank our u21 South A winning captain, Dean Waters, for being there with the cup. The South Senior cup was also in attendance.
Congratulations to our Player of The Year recipients, also. Awards were presented to u12 Lee Casey, Rian Power, u14 Dylan Murphy and u16 Noel Oblior. u16 Captain Erin Walsh was presented with a beautiful Trophy sponsored by Nora’s, also. We also presented the boys that have represented Carrick Swan at divisional and county level this year with an award.
The club met with an Agronomist this week in relation to our new field development on Ballyrichard Road. An Agronomist is a specialist who deals with plant and soil science. The consultation was valuable.
Our u12/u13 camogie team went to Urban Escape last week. The girls really enjoyed their evening. We’d like to thank Jennifer and her staff for making them so welcome. A big thank you also to Rebecca and Clodagh. You can view some pics of the night on our Facebook page, here.
