Our Junior camogie girls created history at the weekend, winning our first adult camogie silverware by defeating Ballingarry in final of the O’ Sullivan tournament in Ballingarry. The club would like to congratulate all the players, and their mentors on a deserved win. This team plays the first round of the County Camogie Championship on The Green on Wednesday August 21st against Moyle Rovers with a 6pm throw-in.
Our Senior hurlers beat Graigue-Ballycallan of Kilkenny for the Sarah Lonergan Memorial Cup in Davin Park on Friday last. A super second half performance saw us run our 7 point winners, on the night.
Our Minor A hurlers take on St Marys in Monroe at 7pm on Wednesday night in their South Semi Final. Best of luck lads. All support welcome.
Our Intermediate footballers take on Grangemockler/Ballyneale on Friday night in Cloneen in the South Quarter Final. The game throwing in at 7-30pm. Best of luck lads. Our Intermediate footballers re-commence their Co Championship on Sunday August 24th when we take on Fethard.
Our u12 A hurlers fell agonisingly short in their South Semi Final against Fethard on Thursday last. At the end of a very tight game, we lost out by 2 points. Commiserations to our u12s who have been brilliant all year. Best of luck to Fethard for the remainder of their year.
Our u6s travelled to Mooncoin to play some games on Wednesday last. Both sets of players showed great skills during the evening, and fun was had by all kids in attendance.
All in the Swan club would also like to wish Mary Wells, Carrickbeg, a massive happy birthday. Mary turned 100 recently. Congratulations Mary.
