Our u21s travelled to Dr Morris Park early last week knowing that only a win against the Co Minor Champions from 3 years ago, St Mary’s, would leave us with a chance of qualifying for the South Semi Finals. A tough ask but a gutsy never say die performance on a bitter-cold night saw us get over the line with a 2-point win.
That 2-point win meant that St Mary’s would need to beat Moyle Rovers by 3 points or more to qualify for a Semi Finals while Moyle Rovers would have to win, draw, or lose by 10 points or less to qualify for the Semi Finals. St Mary’s went on to win that fixture by 11 points, on Sunday last, which meant Swan qualified for the Semi Finals in 2nd place. The Semi Finals take place next weekend. We’d like to wish our u21s the very best of luck at the weekend.
Best of luck to the three Swan boys attending South Tipp trials at the moment. Sean Foley, Dylan Barry and Jack Waters.
On the new field front, car park works will now begin in early 2020, due to the poor weather at the moment. We also had a visit from our Agronomist last week who confirmed that the field should be good to go in early Spring, for the 2020 season. We’ll spread a slow-release high in potassium and nitrogen fertilizer on the field in the coming weeks to make sure it’s in top condition for when activities begin.
Last week’s Swan Lotto numbers were 03 – 04 – 20 – 25. The jackpot was €8,750 and there was no winner. Four match 3s wins €50. Next Week’s Jackpot is €9,000. Thank you for your continued & appreciated support. Play our lotto – Support our young players.
All in the club extends their deepest sympathy to the Blackmore/Hogan families on the sudden passing of Catherine who of course is a sister to our much-valued club officer James Hogan.
Carrick Swan would also like to pass on their condolences to the Pollard family, Castle Park on their recent bereavement.
