Our Senior hurlers took on Moyne Templetuohy in Davin Park on Saturday afternoon.

Although the sun was out, and the weather was great, there was a gale blowing up the field. We played with the wind in the first half and raced into an 2-06 to 0-02 point lead after 10 minutes, playing some exceptional hurling in the early exchanges.

We continued the half as we started, scoring some great long range points, and went in 3-10 to 0-08 points up.

Our first half goals came via James Waters (Scored two goals) and Mikey Loughman while Kieran Lonergan pulled off an outstanding save just before half time to keep Moyne at bay.

Swan started the second half brightly with Gavin O’ Halloran going agonisingly close to finishing the move of the match with a goal. A 60 yard run, a couple of give and go passes, and a shot that went inches over the crossbar. Great point.

At 47 minutes gone, the score was Swan 3-15 to Moyne’s 0-14. From then on however, it was mostly Moyne.

We found ourselves 2 points up deep into injury time. In the last attack, Moyne very nearly goaled to give them the win but it was blocked by Scott Hogan just in front of the goal.

All in all, it was a good run out for the lads, in a competitive game, and great to get some points on the board. Our next game is on the weekend of June 9th against Lattin Cullen Gaels.
