Carrick Swan Hurling/Football & Camogie Club are delighted to announce that we have been notified by Tipperary County Council as per the Planning and Development Act of  2000  of their decision to grant planning permission with conditions (normal).

This notification is massive for the club’s future, with an ever expanding playing membership the new grounds when completed will ensure our players and members have state of the art facilities to rival the best.

The ‘field of dreams’ has taken another giant step forward and we are very grateful to our new neighbours for allowing us this opportunity.

Carrick-on-Suir may have fallen behind other towns regarding industry being attracted to it despite the hard work of our public representatives, but certainly there is no let-up regarding what sports clubs are willing to undertake so that the youth of the town have somewhere to go and be able to participate in sport.

It is hoped now that the club’s recent application for Sport’s Capital Funding will also prove successful and that in conjunction with the club’s own ability to fundraise will see phase one of the development begin sooner rather than later.

Phase one will see the installation of a regulation size playing pitch with a training pitch adjacent, security fencing, ball stop netting and goal posts are also in this phase, the completion time for phase one is expected to be within two years of the main works commencing before any games can realistically be played there.

Phase two would then see the work begin on the club house proper. All of this will of course take time but these are very exciting times for Carrick Swan.
