86 long years ago, a general meeting took place in the Swan club where the crop of players, that would go on to win a Junior South title and 3 Senior South titles over the next 5 years, pledged their allegiance and commitment to Carrick Swan.
In early July 1932, the Waterford News & Star asked the question “Why in the name of common sense do not the two Carrick hurling teams amalgamate”.
The clubs response to that questions can be seen below.
If that general meeting had a different outcome, the hurling landscape in Carrick could have been a whole lot different over the past 86 years.
NOTE: St. Mollerans were yet to be formed in 1932.
