Our Seniors will meet one of Mullinahone, Killenaule or Portroe to see who drops down to Seamus O’ Riain for 2019. No draw/fixture has been made yet. As South champions, Killenaule are currently in a preliminary County quarter final. If Killenaule go on to win Dan Breen this year, it’ll be a 3 team round-robin with 2 losing teams dropping down to Seamus O Riain. If Killenaule fail to win Dan Breen, it’ll be two games with the loser of each game dropping down.
Our Junior Camogie girls made it three championship wins on the trot on Saturday last when we defeated Ballingarry with another superb performance. Well done to all involved. We play Fethard this coming Saturday on The Green at 6-30pm. A win would qualify us for a County Semi Final so please get down to The Green and cheer on the girls this Saturday.
We were advised this week that the South u21 hurling championship is expected to begin the first week in October.
Our Minor hurlers had a great win against St. Marys on Sunday morning which moves us to 4 points but keeps us in 6th position in the group. A win next Sunday in our final group game against Grangemockler/Ballyneill gives us a very slim chance of making the semi-finals. That game takes place on Sunday at noon in Ned Hall Park (Clonmel Og). Best of luck.
Our u14 girls lost out to Burgess on The Green last week.
Our u10s travelled to St Marys on Saturday to play in a tournament. We fielded two teams and both came out of their groups but unfortunately both sides lost out in their semi-finals. It was a great effort by all the boys in very warm conditions.
The club would like to say a big thanks to Bobby ‘Reno’ Ryan for sponsoring sliotars for our Camogie Girls and u16 boys. Thanks Reno. It’s very much appreciated.
