Carrick Swan Notes – Monday, October 20th

The countdown is on! It’s a hugely exciting week ahead for our club as our Premier Intermediate hurlers prepare for the County Final. They take on Upperchurch this coming Sunday in Semple Stadium — throw-in time to be confirmed soon. Very best of luck to all the team and mentors.

Congratulations to our Junior A Footballers, who had a fine win over Clonakenny with a final score of 1-16 to 0-12. This victory sees them progress to the County Final. Well done to all involved!

Our Junior B Hurlers are in action this coming Saturday, October 25th, when they face Knockshegowna in the County Quarter-Final. Throw-in at 2:30pm in The Ragg. Best of luck, lads.

Our Junior B Camogie team played their County Quarter-Final on Sunday last against Roscrea. Unfortunately, the girls were beaten, bringing their season to a close. Hard luck to all involved, and well done on your efforts throughout the year.

It’s all quiet on the juvenile scene this week.

Our 12 Days of Christmas Draw tickets are now available from any committee member or the usual ticket sellers. Tickets can also be purchased online via the link on our social media pages. There’s €20,000 in prize money to be won — don’t miss out!

On Saturday last, we proudly presented a cheque for €17,000 to Breast Cancer Ireland, raised from our recent Coffee Morning Fundraiser. A representative from Breast Cancer Ireland also gave an informative and engaging talk on health and awareness afterwards. Huge thanks to everyone who supported and helped organise this great event.

Finally, the club extends our deepest condolences to the Foran family, Treacy Park, the Power family, Faugheen and England, and the Ryan family, Clonmel, on the sudden passing of Philly Ryan.
