Carrick Swan Notes Monday February 19th

This week, we’ve a few dates for your diary, for the year ahead.

In March, the County Adult Hurling Leagues are due to begin on St. Patrick’s weekend with games taking place every fortnight to the beginning of June. Draws for the League groups are likely to be made later this month. Our Junior A’s & Premier Intermediate teams will compete in this competition in 2024.

Also in March, the club will be taking part in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Carrick-On-Suir. Team mentors will have more details on this, closer to the time.

2024 marks 140 years since the establishment of the GAA in 1884 and Lá na gClub which takes place at the beginning of April celebrates GAA in towns and villages throughout Ireland. Carrick Swan will be taking part in Lá na gClub this year. Stay tuned.

County Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship Round 1 is pencilled in for the weekend of July 28th.

Carrick Swan Club needs your help. If you’re interested in getting involved, either with a camogie or hurling team or in assisting with the administration side of the club, please reach out to any committee member or team mentor. Your help is greatly needed, and we promise voluneteering your time to help your club is highly rewarding. Please reach out for more details.

Tipperary GAA is currently seeking applications from interested individuals to participate in the upcoming Referee Foundation course for Tipperary in 2024, to address the future refereeing needs within the Premier County. If you’re interested, please reach out to refereesadministrator.tipperary@gaa.ie or give Michael Kennedy (South Division) a call on 087 990 7661. Please consider it as without referees, we have no games.

This week’s Carrick Swan lotto jackpot is €7,500 as there was no winner of our €7,250 jackpot last week. The lotto numbers drawn were 10 – 19 – 27 -28. There were seven match 3 winners with all of them winning €70 each. Well done, all. The club would like to thank you for your continued support. Your support helps our young players and helps with our Field Development Project.

Carrick Swan Bingo takes place every Thursday night after our Juvenile Lotto draw. Bingo commences each week at 8.30pm in the Swan Hall and all are welcome. €5 for a single book, €10 for a double book, and just €1 for a quickie. Come on down and bring some friends to enjoy bingo, a chat, and a bit of craic every Thursday night in the Swan Hall.
