Our u12s had a busy week, last week. We played Cahir in 2 challenge games, on The Green, on Tuesday last. It was a great run out for both clubs. Then, on Saturday, we travelled to Kilsheelan to take on the home side in a play-off for the final South A Semi-Final place. After an outstanding game, where both teams produced some excellent hurling, we came out on top, by a single point. This sets up a South Semi Final against Ballingarry, in Fethard at 7pm, tonight (Monday) night. .

Our u9s were in action in action at the recent Piltown fun day where had a great time playing matches, tug-of-war tournaments, and just enjoying themselves.

Our u8s were in Thurles recently for a blitz. Looking at how well they played, I’m sure it won’t be their last trip to Thurles in the coming years. The met with Tipperary legend, Tommy Dunne, on the day.

London Carrick Swan BranchA very special presentation took place on Wednesday last in the Carraig Hotel as the Swan Club presented two members Geoff Gosbee and Martin Morgan with special awards. These awards were the clubs’ way of saying thank you to both men for their generosity to the club over a number of years. Alan P Ryan presented the awards on behalf of the club to both Geoff and Martin.

Without Alan’s brother Denis Ryan, who is great friends with these gentlemen, they would never have heard of Carrick Swan and the fact they all reside in London makes their support for our club even more remarkable. Of course, the club also owes a massive thank you to Denis Ryan for all his support down the years and although Denis may live in London his loyalty and constant support for the club remains as strong as ever. We look forward to seeing this group of gentlemen back in Carrick in the not too distant future where they will always be made very welcome in our club.
