On Friday last, we opened the gates to our new field on Ballyrichard Road to show members, and the general public, the progress that has been made over the past number of months, and especially the past number of weeks. 100+ people attended with the first word of everybody’s lips being WOW. Everybody present walked around a very sandy field in awe of the progress to date. We’d like to thank all those that attended our open evening on Friday.

Carrick Swan will be running our 12 Days of Christmas Draw once again in 2018. Tickets will be on sale in the coming weeks and are once again great value at just €50. €18,000 will be given away in prize money this year.

This coming Saturday, our Seniors take on Upperchurch-Drombane in their final group game of the 2018 Co. Senior Hurling Championship. The game takes place in Cashel at 6.30pm. A Swan win would mean that if Drom fail to beat Thurles Sars in their final game, there would be a 3-way playoff. A loss would mean we go into a relegation play-off with the bottom team from the other 3 groups. Best of luck lads. Let’s get to Cashel on Saturday to cheers our Seniors on.

On Saturday last, our Intermediate footballers lost their 2nd group game in the Co Football Championship to Rockwell Rovers.

Our Junior B Camogie girls will create history on Thursday night when they take on Brian Borus on The Green at 7-15pm in the Junior Camogie Championship. It’s our first ever adult camogie championship game. Best of luck! Our Minors were unlucky not to pick up their first championship win of the year on Wednesday last when they lost out to Cahir by 2 points. Our Minors take on Ballingarry on Wednesday at 6-45pm in Cloneen.

Our u16 hurlers beat Moyle Rovers last week to guarantee their qualification for the South Semi Final. We take on Cahir tomorrow (Monday) night at 7-15pm in Davin Park in our final group game. A win will see us top our group. .

Our u14 hurlers take on Moyle Rovers in the South u14 A Semi Final on Thursday evening in Grangemockler. The game throws in at 7pm. Let’s all get to Grangemockler on Thursday to cheer our u14s on. St Marys await the winner of Thursday’s game in the final. Best of luck lads.

Carrick Swan Culture & Language Officer Seamus ‘Sweets’ Walsh boarded his first plane last week, and then had the audacity to go and jump out of it in aid of the Irish Wheelchair Association. Seamus would like to thank everybody that sponsored him for his parachute jump.
