Swan Notes Monday February 24th
Juvenile Scene
U15A footballers were due to start their championship on Sunday 23rd but it was called off due to pitch being unplayable. Their second game is next week at home to Clonmel Óg.
U13B footballers play their first game Thursday against Cahir at 7.30pm in Duneske. They play Ballylooby in their second game next week.
U13D footballers play their first game next Sunday 2nd March against Fethard at 9.30am in Fethard.
Well done to Charlie Torpey Walsh who has made the South Tipperary U14 hurling panel.
A very good turn out for safe gaurding and well done to everyone who completed the course and got certified.
Coaching development meeting and presentation was held Friday night with more dates planned for the coming weeks.
Club Hall
The club hall recently underwent a complete refurbishment with over €30K spent on it to date, first the lighting was changed to environmentally friendly Led lighting, then it was fully painted including the toilets and store room, finally the floor has been brought up to the highest standard to allow for indoor sports such as badminton, basketball and indoor hurling/football be played while not forgetting our loyal bingo players who now enjoy greater comfort thanks to an enhanced heating system. Proof if it were ever needed that Carrick Swan are not standing still but are all the time improving their facilities and this could not be done without our fundraisers and sponsors, so thanks again to all who support these.
Spectator Stand
The club are delighted to have received planning permission from Tipperary County Council this week for a 260 seated covered stand, this will again be another very expensive project to complete and will require considerable on going fund raising, once all the various tests and designs are considered we would hope to be able to at least commence the installation sometime this year. This latest addition to the already wonderful facilities at Pairc na nEalaí will copper fasten our facilities as among the best club facilities in the country bar none. We will of course keep our members and supporters up to date on the developments as they happen.
Swan Social
On Saturday last we held our Social. A hugely successful and enjoyable night was had in the Talbot Hotel Clonmel.
Massive thanks to our guest Joe Hayes who joined us to present medals and awards.
Well done to Aaron O’Halloran, Emma O’Halloran and Stefan Tobin who picked up awards on the night for their efforts and achievements with Tipperary. Another well done and congratulations to Callum Lanigan who picked up the MJ Collins Award.
Condolences
All at Carrick Swan would like to pass on our condolences to the Mitten family Marian Avenue and the Fiztgearld family Marian Avenue.
