New Field Update – 03/04/2018
The time has eventually arrived, after almost 6 years planning we are at last at the stage when development works on the new pitches at Ballyrichard Road can now take place.
Very soon now the site will be sprayed to kill off all the existing vegetation, then after a few more weeks the site will be ploughed up and then the heavy excavation work which consists of the pitch installations will take place once the weather dries up the soil to make it more workable.
We will also be erecting security fencing around the full perimeter of the site, first off though we will concentrate on the road frontage opposite Collins Park and a major tidying up of that area will take place shortly as we demolish all old existing walls.
Over the next number of months there will be a lot of activity taking place on site and in the interest of safety we appeal to parents to please ensure that your children do not try and access the area at any time as to do so would be very dangerous.
Without the support of the public this project would be nothing but a dream, we thank you all very much for your continued support and we now rely on your co-operation as we begin the transformation of what was a derelict site to a sporting amenity that will add great value to the town of Carrick-on-Suir.
