On Saturday last, Ritchie Lyons, Tullahea, was drawn as our first prize winner in the 12 Days of Christmas draw, winning €10,000. Congratulations, Ritchie. Full draw results can be viewed here.

The club would like to thank all who supported the Draw in aid of our new field development. Fundraising such as this are vital to ensuring the project is a success. A massive thank you to all who sold or bought tickets, without your help none of our plans would be achievable. We look forward now to next year and who knows ‘it could be you’.

Our successful U21 and Senior Hurlers received their winners’ medals at a packed Carraig Hotel on Saturday night, also, to tremendous acclaim. What began with a very rocky start to the year ended on a high when we achieved a momentous South u21 ‘A’ & Senior double.

There were also two special awards presented on the night, the first to Gavin O’Halloran on representing the Tipperary U21 Hurlers in the Munster Championship was just reward for a very gifted player who leads by example and always gives 100% on the field. Gavin will be a key player for the Swan and Tipperary for many years to come and thoroughly deserved this recognition.

The second award was to Dean Waters who picked up the inaugural ‘M.J. Collins Most Improved Young Adult Player’ award. This award was kindly sponsored by the Collins family in memory of our great friend the late Michael John, a man who believed in youth and always saw good and potential in young players. On presenting the award to a very popular winner, M.J.s daughter Emma spoke movingly in what the club and its people meant to her late father and we thank the Collins family most sincerely for this annual award. Dean worked hard to achieve this award showing great dedication, the task now is to see who will follow his lead and win this very fitting award next year.

We congratulate all of our winners and look forward to 2018 on the playing fields.

Our u6s had a great trip to the Winter Wonderland at the Ardmore Open Farm on Saturday. Some photos from the day can be viewed, here.
